“We had booked a trip to Minneriya National Park for mid-November, but on the day itself, it was suggested to us to go to Kaudulla instead, for an extra 2000 LKR (per vehicle), as the wet season meant that fewer elephants were at Minneriya. It was mentioned that we may get to see 60-100 at Kaudulla. My friend and I opted for Kaudulla, and despite only seeing around 30 elephants in herds of 5-15 in the rain, it was the most enjoyable touristy activity we had gone for. We also saw herds of water buffalo, many peacocks, eagles. On top of our safari ticket cost, our entrance ticket fee ended…”
